Here's where most people get stuck after a break. Let's troubleshoot.
- Bitter taste: Water too hot (over 85°C) or too much powder. Drop the temp to 75°C and use 1.5 grams exactly.
- Clumps: Not sifted, or you added too much water at once. Sift next time, and pour water slowly.
- Thin flavor: You might be using less than 1.5 grams, or your matcha is old. Check the tin—if it's been open for months, it may have lost its punch. Fresh BrewNova matcha should taste vibrant.
- No foam: Whisk faster and keep the motion in a zigzag. Also, make sure your water is hot enough—below 70°C won't froth well.
If you've tried all these and the flavor is still off, it might be time to replace your matcha. Stale powder happens.
