If you're tempted to buy something new, think about what's worth it. A better grinder is the single best upgrade for French press—burr grinders give you uniform particles, which means even extraction and a richer cup. A gooseneck kettle isn't necessary for French press, but a thermometer is cheap and takes the guesswork out of water temperature.
As for the press itself, a double-walled stainless steel model will keep heat in longer, which is a real advantage in summer. But don't feel pressured to replace your glass one—just preheat it with hot water before you brew.
