Here's a simple way to evaluate a disposable before you buy, without getting lost in specs:
- Check the wattage range on the package or the brand's site. If it's not listed, that's a red flag—good brands are transparent.
- Read reviews for 'burnt' mentions. If multiple users say the coil burns out early, that's a sign the device isn't well-built.
- Match the coil to your draw style. If you like a tight, cigarette-like draw, look for a device that's low-wattage and has a narrow mouthpiece. If you prefer airy, direct-to-lung hits, go for a higher-wattage device with a wider drip tip.
- Don't overthink coil material. Mesh or ceramic doesn't matter as much as how the coil is implemented. Trust your taste and the experience of other vapers.
I've tested devices across the board, and some of my favorites use old-school round wire coils because they're simple and reliable. Others use mesh and are fantastic. The material isn't the story—the tuning is.
