Once you're at the venue, do a quick test before the first customer asks. Take a normal puff and listen. You want a smooth, quiet draw. Hissing or gurgling means something's off—usually condensation or a clogged airway.

Also check how the device feels in your hand. If it feels warm to the touch, move it into the shade. Heat is the enemy of consistent performance.

These checks take seconds but save you from explaining a burnt hit to a customer.
