A properly formatted batch code — date, line number, shift identifier — is the difference between recalling 50,000 units and recalling 5,000 units when a quality issue surfaces. If your batch code is just a six-digit number with no embedded information, your recall will be larger and more expensive than it needs to be.
Tamper evidence is a legal requirement, not a feature. The most common implementation is a shrink-wrap seal with a tear strip. The second most common is a box seal with a void pattern. Both work. Both add roughly $0.02-0.04 per unit. Neither is optional. The MHRA and Trading Standards both enforce tamper-evidence requirements, and the penalties for non-compliance start at serious and go up from there.
The practical reality is that your packaging is a regulatory document with a brand on it, not a brand document with some regulations on it. Approaching it in that order changes your design priorities. The warning label is not an afterthought. It is the largest single element on the box. Design around it, not in spite of it.
