Inside every regulated vape is a chip that manages how much power goes from the battery to the coil. In normal mode, the chip delivers the manufacturer's recommended wattage — the sweet spot where flavor, vapor production, and efficiency are all balanced. For most pod systems, that's somewhere between 10W and 20W, depending on the coil resistance.
Boost mode tells the chip to push more voltage to the coil. Typically 15–25% more wattage than normal mode. The coil heats up faster and runs hotter. More e-liquid vaporizes per puff. You get denser clouds, warmer vapor, and a punchier throat hit.
Some brands use dual-mesh coil technology (like OXVA's NeXLIM series) where boost mode fires two mesh layers at once for even more surface area and flavor. Others simply crank up the wattage on a single coil. Either way, the result is the same: more power, more vapor, more everything — except efficiency.
Normal Mode
Balanced flavor · Efficient · Coil-friendly
Boost Mode
Bigger clouds · Warmer hit · More intensity
Note: Exact wattages vary by device and coil resistance. The 15–25% increase is a typical range across pod systems from OXVA, Geekvape, Vaporesso, and other major brands.
