Once you're set up, using your pod system is pretty straightforward. But a few habits will keep it working well.
- Charge when needed. Don't let the battery drain to zero every time. Lithium-ion batteries last longer if you top them up before they're completely dead. Most devices have an LED that changes color when the battery is low—pay attention to it.
- Clean the contacts. Every couple of weeks, take a cotton swab and gently wipe the metal contacts on the pod and the device. This removes e-liquid residue that can cause misfires or poor connections.
- Store it safely. Don't leave your device in a hot car or direct sunlight. Heat can damage the battery and cause leaks. Also, keep it upright when you're not using it to avoid leaks.
- Know when to replace the coil. If you notice a burnt taste, reduced flavor, or less vapor, it's time for a new coil. For most people, that's every one to two weeks, but it depends on how much you vape and the type of e-liquid you use.
