Monthly is when you do a deeper check. Look at the coil—if your device has a visible one, see if it looks dark or gunked up. That's a sign it's nearing the end of its life. Even if it looks okay, a weak taste after all your weekly cleaning means the coil is likely spent.

For devices with replaceable coils, swap in a new one per the manufacturer's instructions. For disposable or sealed devices, there's no coil to replace—if the taste stays weak after a full clean, the device is done.

Also, check the device for any cracks or damage. A damaged device isn't just a performance issue; it's a safety concern. If you see any, stop using it and dispose of it properly.
