Wash
- Turn your tee inside out before washing. This protects the outer surface from friction and helps prevent fading.
- Use cold water (30°C or below). Hot water shrinks cotton and fades colors faster.
- Choose a gentle cycle if your machine has one. The less agitation, the better for the fibers.
- Use a mild detergent—skip the bleach and optical brighteners. They're harsh on colored tees and can leave whites looking dingy over time.
Dry
- Air drying is your best friend. Lay the tee flat on a clean towel or hang it on a clothesline in the shade. Direct sunlight can cause yellowing, so avoid that.
- If you must use a dryer, set it to low heat and remove the tee while it's still slightly damp. Then let it air dry the rest of the way. This reduces shrinkage risk.
- Never wring out a wet tee. Gently press out excess water or roll it in a towel to absorb moisture.
Store
- Fold your tees and stack them in a drawer. Hanging can stretch the neckline and shoulders over time, especially for heavier tees.
- Keep them in a cool, dry place. Humidity can cause mildew and that musty smell.
- If you're short on space, roll your tees instead of folding—it saves room and reduces creases.
