If you're asking me, the protective method wins on fabric longevity, but the convenience method wins on practicality. So here's the compromise: wash your ring-spun cotton tees in cold water with a mild detergent, and air dry them most of the time. But when you're in a pinch, use the dryer on low and take the shirt out while it's still damp. That's the best of both worlds.
For storage, always fold. That's not up for debate. And when you're packing for an outdoor event, roll your tees instead of folding them flat—it saves space and reduces creases.
