You've probably heard: "Oversized is more comfortable." Or "Regular fit is boring." Neither is universally true. Comfort depends on fabric, not just fit. A stiff, heavy regular tee can feel restrictive, while a soft, lightweight oversized tee can feel like a blanket. But the opposite is also true. So the advice "oversized = comfy" is a half-truth.
Another common tip: "Just size up for an oversized look." That works occasionally, but it's not a substitute for a true oversized cut. When you size up a regular tee, the shoulder seam drops too far, the sleeves get baggy in the wrong way, and the hem bunches awkwardly. It looks like you borrowed a bigger shirt, not like you chose a style.
And then there's: "Regular fit is timeless." That's more about fashion cycles than fit. Regular fit has been a default for decades because it's neutral, not because it's inherently better. It also ignores that body shapes change, and what works for one person might not for another.
