Every merch drop these days pushes oversized as the only way to wear a tee. Scroll any community feed and you'll see the same talking points: 'go two sizes up,' 'baggy is the vibe,' 'regular fit is for dads.' I've been fitting people into tees for a while now, and that's just not the full picture.
Here's what the hype gets wrong:
- Oversized is not more comfortable for everyone. If you're between sizes or have broad shoulders, an oversized tee can feel like a parachute. It bunches under the arms and rides up.
- Regular fit is not automatically 'boxy' or 'rigid.' The Windbar regular tee has a tapered side seam that follows your torso without hugging. It's a classic cut, not a cardboard tube.
- You don't need to size up to get a relaxed look. A true oversized fit is a design choice, not a sizing hack. Sizing up on a regular tee gives you a weird middle ground—too long in the body, too tight in the shoulders.
So before you chase the trend, ask yourself: what do you actually want the tee to do?
