Social media platforms are flooded with counterfeit vape sellers. Here's what to watch out for.
Common Scams on Social Media
- "Cheap wholesale" accounts β selling disposables at impossibly low prices. Usually counterfeit or they just take your money and disappear.
- Influencer "discount codes" for random brands β some influencers promote whatever pays them the most, regardless of quality or legitimacy.
- "Free vape" giveaways β classic phishing scam. They get your personal info (and sometimes payment info for "shipping") and you never get anything.
- DM sellers β if someone DMs you out of the blue offering cheap vapes, it's almost certainly a scam or counterfeits.
- Fake brand accounts β accounts that look like the official brand but are actually selling counterfeits.
π« Rule of thumb: If you found the seller through social media, don't buy from them. Legitimate vape companies don't sell directly through Instagram DMs or TikTok comments. Always buy through established retail websites or physical stores.
