Every brand owner has limits. Maybe it's budget, maybe it's the shelf space in your store, maybe it's the deadline to get a new product to market. But when it comes to lab testing reports, some constraints are non-negotiable.
Regulatory requirements. If you're selling in the US, the FDA has rules about what needs to be tested and reported. You can't skip this. The question is not 'do I need a lab report?' but 'what does this report need to say?'
Time. If you're launching a custom vape, you can't wait three months for a lab to run tests. You need a lab that can turn results around in a reasonable window, but not at the cost of accuracy.
Budget. Full lab panels are not cheap. A basic e-liquid test can run $500–$1,000. A full panel with heavy metals and carbonyls can be more. But if you buy cheap, you might get a report that's not worth the paper it's printed on.
These are the walls. Now let's talk about what you can flex.
