Sometimes the habit isn't enough. Here's what to watch for:
- If you're in a really cold place (below 20°F), ten minutes might not be enough. Give it thirty, or warm it with your hands.
- If the device has been in a freezing car for hours, the battery might be too cold to charge. Let it warm up completely before plugging it in.
- If your cartridge is clogged from thick extract, a warming period might not clear it. Try a gentle preheat if your device has one, or use a paperclip to clear the airway (but never poke too deep).
- If the pod is leaking, it's probably not the weather—it's a faulty pod. Replace it.
When to stop and replace: if your device consistently underperforms even after warming, or if the battery won't hold a charge, it's time for a new one. Don't keep troubleshooting a dying device.
