Most people unpack a new vaporizer and expect it to work immediately. But there's usually one step you shouldn't skip: charging. Lithium batteries ship with a partial charge, often around 30–50%. That's enough to test the device, but not enough for a trip.
Another overlooked step is priming. If your device uses a coil that you install yourself, you need to saturate it before your first draw. Skipping this can lead to a harsh, burnt taste that lingers. The fix is simple: apply a few drops of e-liquid to the wicking holes, then fill the tank and wait a few minutes.
For pod systems, priming is easier—just fill the pod and let it sit for five minutes. This allows the wick to absorb the liquid. Do this while the device charges, and you're set.
