If mornings are a blur and you just want a decent cup without fuss, this is your route. You don't need a fancy setup—just a dripper, filters, a kettle (any kind), and pre-ground coffee. The trick is to eliminate variables that cause frustration.
Start with a medium grind, pre-ground if you must. Use a 1:16 ratio as your anchor: 20 grams of coffee to 320 grams of water for a standard mug. Boil your water, then let it sit for 30 seconds to cool slightly. Pour a small amount over the grounds to let them bloom for 30 seconds, then pour the rest slowly in a spiral, keeping the water level below the rim.
That's it. You'll get a decent cup that beats most office coffee. The downside? Pre-ground coffee loses flavor quickly, and without a scale you're guessing on ratios. But for simplicity, this path works.
