Different flavor compounds vaporize at different temperatures. The temperature you vape at determines which flavor notes you taste. Here's the guide.
Low (150-180°C / 300-355°F): The lightest flavor notes. Citrus, berry top notes, and menthol come through cleanly. The vapor is cool and thin. The hit is mild. This is the flavor-chaser range for fruit and ice flavors. You'll miss the deeper notes, but the high notes are pristine.
Medium (180-210°C / 355-410°F): The balanced range. Most flavor compounds activate here. Fruit, cream, vanilla, and light tobacco notes all come through. The vapor is warm and satisfying. This is the range for 90% of vapers. It's the sweet spot between flavor and vapor production.
High (210-240°C / 410-465°F): The heavy range. Caramel, custard, heavy tobacco, and bakery notes activate here. The vapor is hot and dense. The flavor is intense but can taste burnt if you go too high. This is the range for dessert and custard flavors.
If you're using wattage mode (not temperature control), you're already vaping in a temperature range — you just don't know which one. A 0.4-ohm coil at 40W runs at about 200-220°C. A 0.15-ohm coil at 70W runs at about 230-250°C. The wattage-to-temperature relationship depends on airflow, coil mass, and juice composition. Temperature control removes the guesswork.
