When you buy a market report, you're paying for three things: data collection, analysis, and ongoing access.
Data collection—surveys, retailer panels, customs data—is the expensive part. The more granular the data, the more it costs. Analysis is the layer that interprets raw numbers: what's driving growth, which segments are maturing, what to expect next year. Ongoing access is what subscriptions give you: updated figures and the ability to ask questions.
If you only need a snapshot, a one-off report is fine. If you want to track changes over time, a subscription will be better value—but only if you'll actually use the updates.
