A vape coil is the heating element inside your device that vaporizes e-liquid. It consists of a wire or mesh strip wrapped around wicking material (usually organic cotton). When you fire your device, the battery sends current through the coil, it heats up, and the cotton-soaked e-liquid turns into vapor.
Every coil has two key attributes: material (what the wire or mesh is made of) and resistance (measured in ohms, which determines how much power it draws). Getting either wrong leads to poor flavor, burnt cotton, or even device damage.
Coils are consumable. They degrade with use as e-liquid residue builds up on the wicking cotton and the heating element wears out. Understanding how to choose, maintain, and replace them is the single most impactful skill for any refillable vape user.
