Audit what you have
Start by pulling out every CBD vaporizer you own. Yes, all of them. That drawer of old devices counts. For each one, jot down:
- Airflow type: fixed holes or adjustable ring?
- Battery age: how long have you had it?
- Last deep clean: when did you last clear out the mouthpiece and airflow path?
- Current settings: where is the airflow set right now?
Most people find they have two or three devices, but only one gets regular use. The others are backups that may not even work properly. Knowing what you have is the first step to tuning for spring.
What still earns its place
Your daily driver probably still deserves a spot. But check if it's ready for warmer weather. Look for signs of wear that could affect airflow:
- Gunk around the airflow holes: this restricts air and makes draws tighter than intended.
- Battery that drains fast: heat can worsen battery performance.
- Cracked or loose mouthpiece: leaks can ruin the draw.
If your device is in good shape, it's worth keeping. Adjust the airflow to a more open setting and give it a quick clean. That might be all you need for spring.
What to retire
Some devices just aren't worth the hassle in warm weather. Consider retiring any that:
- Have a fixed airflow that you can't adjust—if it's already tight, it'll feel worse in heat.
- Show signs of internal residue that won't come off with a simple clean.
- Are older than two years, especially if the battery feels weaker than before.
Retiring doesn't mean throwing away. You can recycle the battery and dispose of the rest properly. But keep your stash clutter-free and working.
Gap list only
After auditing, you might find a real gap. For instance, you have a tight-draw device but no adjustable one for hot days. Or you have a mouth-to-lung style but want a direct-lung option for cooler vapor. Make a list of what you actually need—not what's shiny and new. If you need a new device, look for one with adjustable airflow so you can adapt to any season.
Buy only for gaps
When you do buy, stick to the list. If your gap is an adjustable airflow device, research options that fit your budget and style. Remember, you're buying hardware, not e-liquid. The device is separate from your CBD cartridges or refills. Check compatibility and read reviews from other users. One new device that fills a real gap beats three impulse buys that end up in that drawer again.
Before you shop, tune what you have. Open the airflow, clean the path, and see if that solves your spring complaints. Often, it does.
