Battery specs look like gibberish. They're not. Here's what the numbers on your battery actually mean.
mAh (milliamp-hours): Capacity. How long the battery lasts. 1000mAh = about 10 hours of moderate pod system vaping. 3000mAh = about a full day of sub-ohm vaping. Double the mAh, double the runtime. This is the most straightforward spec.
Amps (continuous discharge rating): How much current the battery can safely deliver. A 20A battery can safely power a 0.21-ohm coil at 4.2V. A 35A battery can safely power a 0.12-ohm coil. The amp rating is the most important spec for safety. Never exceed the continuous discharge rating. The "pulse" rating on some batteries is marketing — ignore it.
C-Rating: The discharge rate relative to capacity. A 3000mAh battery with a 2C rating can discharge at 6A (3000mAh × 2C = 6000mA = 6A). This is mostly used for internal battery calculations. For vapers, the amp rating is what matters.
The best all-around 18650 battery for vaping is the Samsung 30T (35A, 3000mAh). The best 21700 is the Molicel P42A (45A, 4200mAh). Buy from a reputable vendor (not Amazon, not eBay). Counterfeit batteries are common and dangerous.
