DIY mixing is volume math: target bottle size, VG/PG ratio, nicotine from a stronger base, and optional flavor percentage. Flavor is usually counted as PG in simple recipes, which shifts how much straight PG you add.

Getting the nicotine base volume right matters more than chasing the third decimal on VG. A 60 ml batch at 6 mg/ml from 20 mg/ml base uses a predictable slice of strong liquid; the rest is diluent and flavor.

When to use it

• You have 100 mg/ml base and want a 3 mg/ml 30 ml bottle for an open pod.
• You are balancing 70/30 VG/PG with flavor that counts as PG.
• You resized a recipe from 30 ml to 60 ml and need proportional millilitres.

Worked example

For 60 ml at 6 mg/ml using 20 mg/ml nicotine base: strong nicotine volume is (6 ÷ 20) × 60 = 18 ml. The remaining 42 ml splits between VG, PG, and flavor according to your target ratio.
