In September 2026, Reynolds American — the US subsidiary of British American Tobacco (BAT) and parent of the R.J. Reynolds Vapor Company — began selling a new version of the Vuse Pro vaping system with four fruit-flavored pod options in Ohio and selected US markets. The flavors are:
- Peach (5.0% nicotine by weight)
- Berry (5.0% nicotine by weight)
- Watermelon (5.0% nicotine by weight)
- Fresh Mint (5.0% nicotine by weight)
All four products are nicotine-salt formulations at 5.0% NBW. None of these flavored pods have received FDA marketing authorization. Reynolds spokesperson Luis Pinto stated that the sale of Vuse flavored pods is "consistent with applicable state regulations" and is paired with "enhanced youth access prevention measures" including ID requirements and purchase limits.
The Vuse Pro device itself introduces a novel feature: app-based age verification. Users must complete age verification through the Vuse Pro App, enable Bluetooth, and pair their smartphone with the device before the vape can be activated. This creates an additional access-control layer after the point of purchase — a design that appears aimed at addressing the youth-access concerns that have historically blocked fruit-flavored vape authorizations.
