Storage Setup
- Designated storage location: cool (59-77°F), dark, dry cabinet
- Bottles stored upright, not on their side
- Amber glass bottles for any e-liquid stored 3+ months
- Every bottle labeled with purchase date and flavor
- FIFO system: older bottles in front, newer in back
- No e-liquid in cars, bathrooms, or near heat sources
Monthly Maintenance
- Check each bottle for color changes, separation, or odor
- Shake bottles to re-emulsify any separation
- Check caps are still tight — replace if threads are worn
- Discard any bottle older than 2 years (opened) or 3 years (sealed)
- Move bottles approaching expiration to the front for priority use
- Inventory count: do you have more than you can use in 6 months?
Signs It's Time to Discard
- Dark brown or black color (heavy oxidation)
- Harsh, peppery, or chemical taste
- Complete flavor loss
- Visible separation that doesn't re-emulsify after shaking
- Rancid or unusual smell
- Any visible mold or particles (very rare)
- Bottle older than 2 years opened, 3 years sealed
- Nicotine effect significantly reduced from baseline
