On August 28, 2026, the FDA issued marketing granted orders for the JUUL2 e-cigarette device and two flavored pods — Virginia Tobacco and Polar Menthol — both at 18 mg/mL (1.5–1.6% nicotine). The authorization brings the total number of FDA-authorized e-cigarette products to 48 and marks a pivotal moment: it is only the second time the agency has cleared a menthol-flavored pod under the PMTA pathway, and the first time JUUL's next-generation platform has received a green light in the United States.
